TALLMADGE HIGH TIMES

SOUVENIR EDITION NOVEMBER 28, 1981

Judging from the response, memories were hard to dredge up from our high school years--15 years ago!

Many people and events were fondly remembered as we dug out our yearbooks to reminisce.

GARLAND ABEREGG remembers as his most embarrassing moment driving the Homecoming King and Queen and popping the clutch in front of everyone at the Homecoming game. Who taught you to drive, Garland - Mr. Rossiaky? Garland also remembers a "certain lady" who he says shall remain nameless. (Bet there's a story behind that!)

LINDA ARNES says that beating Roosevelt for the Metro title was the most memorable event for her. Many of us join you there, Linda.

Who can forget HELEN BOEHN and her 1964 navy blue LeMans and her 1966 burgundy GTO? Helen always had sharper cars than the guys and we always cruised A&W in style! Helen remembers winning her first drag race in her GTO--against a VW!

TED BARE recalls when Coach Schwabe walked into gym class and Ted was locked up on the ceiling in the rings! Seems like JIM SCALIA and JOHN PAOLUCCI cranked him up to the top and the pull chain got stuck and they couldn't get him down! Nice going, guys!

DANNY BOEHN - we'd sure do miss your laugh. It seems like every time we turned around in assembly to see who was "guffawing" _ it was you! Danny also remembers his sister, Helen, circulating a petition so he could participate in the graduation ceremonies. He was ONLY married--NOT pregnant!!

RUSSELL BUCKBEE was most embarrassed when he was almost "wiped out" by a departing rush of students as he tried to reenter at the final bell. Russ' favorite food was supposed to be everyday since his mother was a cafeteria cook!

BRUCE CHAPPELEAR was embarrassed being caught "holding" three times during the Springfield game. Remember when MIKE WALKER walked over Mrs. Athey's desk?

TOM DAVIS turned red when he was at the Free Fair announcing for the for the American Field Service. Over the loudspeaker, he kept inviting people to aid them in sending a student "a broad" for the next year. The man in the next booth suggested that Tom change the wording a bit. Tom was totally ignorant of the implications!! Weren't we all a wee bit naive? (Ah, those were the good old days!)

Remember DANNY FIRTH lighting a quart bottle of acetelene gas in chemistry class and the black soot that settled all over the room?

We all remember Danny's pride and joy--a '57 red and black Chevy. We girls were all a little jealous--he paid more attention to his car and motorcycles than to us! Just kidding, Dan-you got around!!

MEL FORD recalls aving to stand in front of an assembly to receive a Perfect Attendance Certificate and turning beet red. That seemed to be Mel's favorite trick--turning red, that is.

Is it true, BETH KNIERIEM, that LINDA GORE had to stand up in Mr. Cardille's study hall when it was you doing the talking?

Remember ROGER CASH's "lucky shirt"? Lucky at what, gee (I'm afraid to ask!)

MIKE GREENE, tell us more about DAVE CONLEY and his Superman costume!

DANNY HAUSE was amazed at seeing JIM HILL run the hurdles afte drinking a fifth of Thunderbird! Some of the football players remember the Friday night pizza parties at the Spinelli's. Seems like Karen's parents' pizza was more popular than J&J's. Remember, Danny, when Coach Wachtel ordered the house off limits because all the spicy food was making their mouths too sore for their mouthguards?

Would you believe BRAD HUTH is a funeral director??

FLOYD LAFFERRE remembers when he split the entire back seat of his pants trying to retrieve a quarter. Was it worth 250, Floyd?
