Update 2011

Hello Fellow Blue Devils of “66”. My wife, Teresa, and I have just completed our move to Aiken, South Carolina. We retired 5 years ago to the Eastern Shore of Maryland on the Chesapeake Bay having a new home built on the water, but after a couple more winters and the high taxes we decided to move south. This was our 3rd move in the last 8 years and the “Boss” says she will never move again.

A picture of Terri and I in front of our new residence in Aiken, SC./ Our 3 daughters and 6 grandchildren are still in the Maryland, DC, Virginia area and we visit often when they are not here in Aiken with us. Most of our leisure time is spent traveling, exploring the historical sites in the Carolinas and Georgia, fishing, and attempting to pick up the game of Golf. Terri is also an avid crafter, knitting/crocheting/needlepoint/etc.

Speaking of Golf, our new home was built in a private, gated, golf/fishing, country club development. 4 courses to choose from and I had never played the game. Neighbor has lent me a set of clubs and with some lessons from the club pro, I may be able to hit the links this year.

If anyone is ever in the Charleston, SC / Savannah, GA / South Carolina / or Atlanta/Augusta, GA areas, please give me a call. We have plenty of room for a visit and would love to see you.

Current Employment: Pharmaceutical Sale Representative

Fellow THS'ers, where has the time flown? 39 years since graduation and too many events and milestones to ever attempt to put down on paper. But let me try to hit the high spots.

After graduation I spent 1 year in college at Olivet Nazarene College, Kankakee, Ill. and 1.5 years at the University of Akron. While at Akron, I also worked full time as a chemical research technician at Firestone Tire and Rubber. Lo and behold Uncle Sam decided I was 3 hours short of full time, rescinded my 2-S status and drafted my butt in March 1969. I subsequently enlisted in the Army to gain training as a medical laboratory technologist. Over the next 36 months, mostly in Texas and New Jersey, I became an adept medical technologist, and got out of the military in Feb. 1972 with a rank of Spec. E-5. With 3 other Army technologist buddies and a Pathologist, we started our own reference laboratory in Northern New Jersey. After a rough 1st year in this very competitive business, I decided to seek employment at a national reference lab as a night tech to pay the bills. It is here that I met my wife to be, Teresa, in the manual chemistry laboratory. We were married in Dec. 1973. Terri had a 3 year old daughter, Stacey, whom I adopted and I also immediately started back to college part-time at Fairleigh Dickinson University, Madison, New Jersey.

Over the next 6 years Terri and I had 2 additional daughters, Alissa (74) and Megan (78), I was promoted to laboratory manager, and subsequently assistant hospital administrator, and received by BS in Biology from Fairleigh. In 1979 I made the move to industry by taking a position as technical specialist/sale representative, selling high tech laboratory equipment to reference laboratories and hospital labs. In 1981 I was promoted and relocated to Bowie, Maryland.

Although still in Maryland, I have worked for 3 other bio-medical companies since 1981. Both as a field sales representative and sales manager. Currently I am with a pharmaceutical division of Johnson & Johnson. Have been here for 10 years and will take an early retirement in Jan. 2006 to start a second career.

Terri and I are recently empty nesters. Our 2 youngest daughters both got married in the last 10 months. Our oldest daughter has been married for 10 years and we have 3 beautiful grandchildren, Katie (8), Tommy (6), and Logan (4). They are certainly the apples of their grandparents eyes.

In October of 2004 we moved across the Chesapeake Bay to our retirement home on Maryland's Eastern Shore. I've been commuting (70 miles each way) to Baltimore each day and looking forward to January and retirement. However, I plan on keeping busy with a second career in new home sales here on the shore.

Please, if any of you Blue Devils are ever in the Washington, DC, Baltimore, MD, or the Delaware/MD shore area, look us up. We have plenty of room and would love to talk about old times and show you the area.
