Rememberance by John Colosetti I really didn’t hang out with Andy, but when I was first starting to play the guitar I was at Dale Schartiger’s house who was a neighbor of Andy. Andy was playing the guitar in the livingroom (an old “Airline” I think that is the old Montgomery Ward brand). This was probably ’63 or ’64. He had learned to play from Jeff Crislip from the old ‘Bonneville’s. He played all of the old style Venture instrumental’s (Mr. Moto, Walk Don’t Run, Wild Weekend etc. jsut like the Bonnevilles). He did a pretty good job, but what really impressed me was that at sometime he had injured his little finger on his left hand (the hand that presses the strings) and couldn’t bend it. It just stuck straight up in the air. In spite of that he was able to play way better than I could at the time. That and his blonde “DA” is what I remember most about Andy. Andy is no longer with us. He can't update him own page so if you have other memories or recollections about him that you wish to share, please email them to |
